Meloncino serves traditional Roman food with a contemporary modern touch. Home-made pasta and authentic Italian sauces, steaks and seafood are available from the charcoal grill. Pizzas are created in our wood fired oven with thin base (Roman Style) and thick base (Neapolitan Style). To stay faithful to the original recipes, the majority of our ingredients and wines are fully imported from Italy.

Being located on the second floor of Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre, above the quay, gives the restaurant commanding views of the magnificent Table Mountain and the working harbour below. It’s the perfect setting for sundowners, lazy afternoons and leisurely evenings.

Baccala’ alla Livornese
Freshly caught linefish, lightly fried and cooked in a delicate tomato, fresh basil and a hint of chilli sauce. Served on a bed of pommes puree.

OR

Penne con Pesto di Melanzana
Penne pasta served with a light, home-made aubergine pesto and grated parmesan cheese, accompanied with diced tomato.

OR

Bistecca di Manzo
Grain-fed, 6 weeks matured sirloin steak, grilled on an authentic charcoal grill and seasoned with olive oil, lemon, oregano, salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Served with Italian oven-roasted potatoes.
DOLCE (Dessert)
Semifreddo di Nutella
A decadent frozen Nutella chocolate mousse.

OR

Panna Cotta al Limoncello e Vaniglia
Home-made panna cotta infused with vanilla and Italian limoncello liqueur. Served with a rich strawberry confit.

Mixed garden herbs with rocket, chicory, carrots, corn, mushrooms, olives and tuna, dressed in Italian dressing.

Fagottini di Pollo
Chicken paillard filled with asparagus and smoked Italian cheese, wrapped in prosciutto and cooked in a cream, brandy and mushroom sauce, served with Italian oven-roasted potatoes.
